Permaculture is a design framework engaging systems-level thinking to generate holistic solutions through Traditional Ecological Knowledge and Western Science. The course introduces you to the foundational framework that guides the philosophy and methodology of permaculture as a design strategy and overviews ideas that you will be able to apply in your personal life, home, and community. There are four levels within the course, which include:
- Introduction to Permaculture Design
- Permaculture Ethics: Earth Care
- Permaculture Ethics: People Care & Fair Share
- The Permaculture Design Process
This course was created through a partnership between professors and practitioners from Utah State University’s Departments of Environment and Society and Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning, and the Permaculture Institute, Inc.
This course awards a certificate of completion from USU Extension.
