Designers are faced with major decisions regarding every aspect of their brands and products today. Learning to navigate the materials and manufacturing worlds and knowing what materials and processes are going to align with the values of the brand can be challenging. The HIGG Index was developed as a tool to be used by designers to understand the impact of their design and manufacturing decisions by providing quantitative data and comparisons between the materials and processes. Students who complete the course will: understand the history of the HIGG Index and the driving force for sustainable tools, know how to use the HIGG Index and the various tools it has to offer, understand how to make more informed decisions hen using the HIGG Index, and have an introduction to other sustainable tools that can provide additional information of brands and their impact.
Pre Orders of “Understanding Product Impact Through The HIGG Index” will be taken in November, 2019.
