This training will teach you how to collect 24-hour dietary recall data using the Automated Self-Administered 24-hour recall 2016 (ASA24-2016). A 24- hour dietary recall collects information on all of the food and drink consumed the day before. The ASA24 collects information in a very systematic and detailed way to ensure high-quality data.
The course includes 8 lessons in 3 modules. Each lesson includes:
- a video and optional reading –or- a reading
- an activity to be completed using ASA24
- a multiple-choice quiz
In lessons that have a video, the readings are optional but can be useful to reinforce or further clarify any topics you find tricky. The quizzes can be taken as many times as needed—the important point is that you learn the material.
We estimate that the course will take you about 3-6 hours to complete. You do not have to complete the course in one sitting. Your progress will be saved.
This manual is designed primarily for paraprofessional nutrition educators and their supervisors. It can also be used in the train the trainer model, where the online manual is used to train a trainer, and then an in-person training is given using the training guide included at the end of the training.
